Same thing as Pyridium! (Phenazopyridine)
Wow! Imagine my surprise when I found out that this product, which was prescribed by my doctor for a UTI (urinary tract infection) was available over the counter! I had just paid my insurance co-pay of $10 to get 6 tablets, and happened to mention it to a girlfriend who is a nurse. She told me about AZO, and said in her opinion, it was the best of the over the counter variety.So, I immediately looked this up on line, and sure enough...here it is! This version of the product, called standard, has 95 mg of this ingredient mentioned above. This manufacturer carries another version called "Standard Maximum" that is 97.5 mg, and I do not see it available yet on Amazon. The prescription version is for 100 mg tablets. Well, they all do the same thing, including turning your urine orange in most cases! This dosage was sufficient to give me fast relief. Please make sure to read the package warning section, as if you wear soft contact lenses, it can permanently discolor...

makes it better
These pills wiill make urination less painful for you while the antibiotics you got from the doc (you did go to the doc, didn't you?) cure the UTI. The only caution is that your urine will turn some bizarre color -- this is noted on the box.

Great product, poor packaging
I suffered a car accident a few years back which crushed my pelvis and severed my urethra. Due to a blockage of scar tissue I have to regularly catheterize myself to keep the area free of obstruction so I could void.I am so glad this product is available OTC, it is the ONLY product that actually eases the pain and discomfort down there. The only other method that even has helped me is high doses of ibuprofen [800MG min] or Naproxen [2x 240mg pills].The only things keeping me from giving it a perfect score is the packaging is ridiculous. The pills are separated in pairs in these cheap plastic packs and when you go to rip a pair off, more often than not you end up tearing another package open on accident. Blister packs would have been a much better option IMHO.Also the price is steep to other comparable products...

Great for my feet
I accidentally discovered that AZO Yeast will clear up my stubborn athlete's foot. I bought a bottle of this years ago for the more traditional purpose and used it in conjunction with an OTC cream and then for awhile to prevent re-infection, and I was very satisfied with the product. I recently found about a dozen tablets left in the bottle, about to expire. I began taking one a day, just to use them up, as a preventative measure even though I hadn't had a vaginal yeast infection in years. Lo and behold, my feet stopped itching, and the skin began looking better. I assumed my butenafine hydrochloride cream had started to work. A dozen days passed, I finished up the pills, and then my athlete's foot returned! Arrgh! But I made the connection, did a little research, and discovered that athlete's foot can indeed by caused by a yeast fungus rather than a dermatophyte, and in that case, the OTC creams won't work. But these pills do! I've begun to take two a day and my feet are...

Cranberry Miracle!
I'd been taking Costco cranberry supplements for three days for a UTI. Pretty good, but not good enough. With the AZO Cranberry, I felt relief within 2 hours. I plan on taking two more later tonight. I am also taking d-mannose as well (look into this if you have a UTI). Very impressed and so glad I don't have to go down the antibiotic road this time. By far, AZO is the strongest cranberry I've taken. Plan on taking it for maintenance as well.

No more bladder infections, plus another benefit
I usually have 4-5 bladder infections a year. Since I started this product, I have had zero. I am not a pill taker. So I decided to only take it during Friday, Saturday and Sunday and then I took it morning and night on Saturday. This has been sufficient. And the extra benefit? I haven't had a cold in 6 months! January and February are when I am always sick. Everyone else got sick, but me. I'm happy.

Effective, possibly not cost effective for everyone.
I was taking these for a few months as way to prevent UTI's, which I suffer from 3-4 times a year. During the time I was taking this supplement I did not have any UTI's (yay!!) however when my supply ran out I went without them for a month to see if I would notice a difference and sure enough- I got a UTI. That being said they seem to work well for me.With Amazon's subscribe and save program I can get 150 tablets which lasts 3 months for around 15$, so 60$/year. You have to decide if this is cost effective for you, depending on the frequency of your infections and your health/prescription insurance. I'm going to start taking these again- for me it's worth saving trips to the doctors office- especially because my infections always seem to start on weekends! Another thing to mention if you suffer from frequent UTI's- check out the OTC product...

This Product Works!
I had several doctor visits due to a recurring fungal skin infection. It is very humid where I live and my dermatologist told me that they are fairly common in warm, humid areas. I had tried various prescription creams, antifungal sprays, and powders but the problem kept coming back and in ever larger areas. I started taking these five days ago; I was desperate by the time I found them, almost crying from the pain and constant itching.By the second day I had already noticed a difference. There was less itching, tenderness, and dampness. Today there are no symptoms at all. For the first time in a few weeks I can wear my bra without pain. I have been taking two pills three times a day and I will probably continue for another five days. Then I will go to one pill three times a day. But I can honestly say these pills WORKED!

What the instruction DON'T tell you is the correct doctor approved methos of using these strips.For home use, your test should be the first thing in the morning, Not in the day or after a meal.Next pee in a "urine sample bottle" available from your doctor or pharmacy free usually. This eliminate the contaminationfrom your cavity liquids. Maybe not so accurate
I have been having frequent urinary infections so I bought this product. I tried one strip and it showed I had a bladder infection so I went to the doctor.They did a test and it showed I did not have an infection. So I do question the accuracy of these strips. Although they are very convenient to have. I guess it is better to be tested and not have an infection than ignore an infection.

Finally!
I had a UTI, as any woman knows this is a serious pain to deal with! I took Azo for two days, and ont he first day I noticed the pain was gone, and i could fully empty my bladder. such a blessing. However, it does turn yellow this impressive colour neon orange. (Think traffic cone) and it stains EVEYTHING panties, poants, even the toilet! So be careful, but a panty casualty is well worth the relieve.

Not very fast, but works great when it kicks in
I've been using this stuff off and on for a couple years now. I was prone to UTI's for awhile (And UTI symptoms off and on when I don't have a UTI, they suspect I have interstitial cystitis, aka "painful bladder")and in a pinch this stuff worked great. Unfortunately it takes awhile to get into your system and actually start working (about a day or 2-3 doses as must take 2 pills three times a day), and your not supposed to take it for more then 3 days because they want you on antibiotics so you can get rid of the infection instead of masking it. You can actually die from a UTI if it gets bad enough and you don't seek treatment. However, since I have flare ups that aren't always UTI's its nice to have this product to get rid of the pain instead of having to see my dr and pay $100+ for the visit, tests, and prescriptions (or lack thereof when the tests are negative)Its a shame this stuff is so expensive (in stores) though, but they usually give you a $1 off coupon inside...
